SYSTEM

 

Defined
as a quantity that has continuous values is called analog quantities. Analog
quantities usually shown in a form of current, voltage or meter reading and
proportional to its quantity value. For example: speed, temperature, time, pressure,
distance, sound. Analog quantities usually change over a continuous range of
values

 

In
analog system, it receives analog signal, process and the output are also in
analog form. The processing in analog system usually takes time and required
bigger data storage. Examples of analog system are audio amplifier, light
dimmer switch, etc.

 

DIGITAL
SYSTEM

 

Defined
as a digital quantity is a quantity that has a discrete set of values. It is
usually given in a form of symbol called ‘digit’. For example: Digital clock,
digital thermometer. The changes in digital quantities are instantaneously or
in discrete steps.

 





















In a digital system, it receives the analog signal and
process, however the output is in digital form. The processing in digital
system is faster and required smaller data storage. Examples of a digital
system are digital computer, calculator, and telephone system
